Moving to Charleston!
Well I suppose I spoiled the surprise through my title, but nevertheless I am excited to share with you a little about our new adventure that awaits!
For context, we’ve lived in Oklahoma City for a little over a year and a half, and although I wasn’t the biggest fan at first…OKC grew on me. So as I write this, it’s bittersweet to think about leaving the familiar to explore somewhere new. But hey, that’s life! And how dull would it be if we only kept to what we know?
So why Charleston?
Well why not?! After all, I’ve heard it’s a lovely place filled with friendly southerners...But truthfully, I’d never considered moving to Charleston. Visiting? Yes. But moving in a month— Not really.
But as I said, life takes you through streams and paths in ways that those “original plans” never quite imagined . My fiancé recently decided to pursue a career outside of the soccer field and landed an exciting opportunity within medical sales in the trauma unit. So to the OR he goes and to the east coast we all go! Dogs and all, next month we’ll venture cross country to the “lowcountry” as they call it.
The Road Ahead
As with most new beginnings, the road ahead will be an unfamiliar one. And unfamiliarity can feel a bit scary at times- after all, it is the unknown. But I think it’s like that with any new experience; whether you start a new career, find a new home, or move to new city. Change can feel scary, but can also bring so much growth and discovery. After all, it’s a time to drop what you know and be open to the road ahead.
